Sleeping next to your kid can be dangerous!
Snuggling in bed next to a baby can be as dangerous as tucking him next to a butcher knife. Well, that’s what Milwaukee Health Department has unveiled publicly with two jaw-dropping ads.
In a shocking new anti-co-sleeping campaign, a child is shown sleeping next to a butcher knife. According to Washington Post, Milwaukee commissioner of health, Bevan Baker, introduced this campaign with: “Is it shocking? Is it provocative? Yes. But what is even more shocking and provocative is that 30 developed and underdeveloped countries have better (infant death) rates than Milwaukee,” according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
The campaign is the latest attack on the practice of co-sleeping. The American Academy of Pediatrics last month reiterated its stance against co-sleeping. And, it recommends that infants don’t sleep with their parents on the same bed because of risks of suffocation and strangulation.
However, the issue doesn’t go down well with many parents. As for them, it’s natural for parents to sleep with their children as it also encourages breast-feeding. In fact, they go on to call it a rewarding experience for both parent and baby.
