Pamper your feet before it's too late

Pamper your feet before it's too late

The morning after a hard night of partying can be very tiring, especially on your feet, and more so if you’ve been burning the dance floor in sky high heels. Dancing apart, just standing or strutting in killer stilettos for long hours can take a heavy toll on your feet and the ache can bog you down for quite a few days after.
Timely care and pampering can, however, restore the life in your feet almost instantly. One of the quickest and best treatments for aching feet, says Simon Talukdar, spa manager of Angd3.ai day spa at Le Sutra Hotel, is a foot reflexology session.
“The foot contains the nerve endings that, on application of controlled and consistent pressure, can relax not just the feet but also the mind and body,” says Simon. Elaborating on the benefits of foot reflexology, Simon says that a mere 30 minute session can instantly rejuvenate and refresh ones senses. “If you are pressed for time, then a quick pedicure can also relieve stressed feet,” he adds.
Rahul Kale of Iraya says that the best thing to help tired feet would probably be a massage with generous doses of relaxing foot gel. “Apply a relaxing foot gel and then give yourself a deep pressure point massage. Your feet will simply love it,” smiles Rahul.
Alternatively, Rahul suggests that one could use specially formulated foot massage balms available in the market. “Pick one with enriched with sunflower oil, ginger oil or peppermint oil and soak your feet in warm water with Epsom or sea salts,” says Rahul adding that the oils and balms help keep the moisture in the feet intact. And the warm water, he says, relieves stress and any bacteria that might have accumulated due to perspiration or humidity.
And if you are absolutely pressed for time or have no energy to even walk up to seek a specialists help, just ask someone to give you foot massage with a fragrant moisturizer. Sense of smell also plays a very important role in relieving any kind of stress. You could also try soaking your feet in warm water (though not for too long) and follow it up with a generous rub of fresh lemon juice. And if you notice any dry and cracked spots, treat them with olive oil rubbed overnight. You’d be surprised as to how happy feet can lead to a good nights sleep as well.
