Off with wrinkles in 40 seconds?

Off with wrinkles in 40 seconds?

And you thought airbrushing photographs were all that you could do to blur out imperfections on the skin. Well, now it seems you can do the same on your face! A new face cream has packaged itself with tall claims, which now seems to have taken the beauty industry by storm in about 22 countries. Called Nanoblur balm and tagged ‘wonder balm’, this cream promises to hide pigmentations and wrinkles making one look younger in just 40 seconds. Already a hot topic of debate on online forums, this miracle cream is full of minute high-tech particles that scatter light, supposedly making skin look clearer, fresher and younger in seconds.
Celebs here in India don’t mind trying it out, but say they’d be a bit wary about its effects. Actress Parizad Kolah Marshall says, “I personally love to try a lot of new products. But nothing happens overnight. It takes time to show the results. Nothing happens in 40 seconds. You may feel a 20-30 per cent difference. Butageing is a natural process, so you must be realistic. I feel a little bit of indulgence is fine, but over-the-counter products do have harmful chemicals.”
Since it’s all about instant gratification in our busy lives, this ‘wonder balm’ might just work here. Says actress Yuvika Chaudhary, “I believe in natural products. But then it varies from person to person. I haven’t tried it myself so I can’t say much about it. But they have packaged it such that when people are loving it abroad, they might love it here as well.”
Comedian Tanmay Bhatt however jokes, “Funny how a wonderbra makes people raise their eyebrows and a wonder balm makes it look like you haven’t moved your eyebrows at all!”
Giving the issue serious thought, model-actor Aditi Govitrikar opines, “Technology is progressing so rapidly that anything is possible. If it’s an international product and doing well, I’m sure they must have done some clinical testing before releasing it in the market. But I’d be a bit wary because one must know the long term effects of the product before using it. I’d put in some thought before putting it on my face.”
TV presenter and funnyman Kunal Vijayakar quips, “This is very dangerous, no one will know how old anyone really is. Actors could go on for ever. Rekha may make a come back to topple Katrina Kaif. Dev Anand may cast Naseer as his father in his next movie and above all, Rakhi Sawant may never retire.”
