Geetika Sharma suicide: Kanda evading police, disguised as sadhu

Chandigarh: Gopal Kanda, is roaming around Haryana disguised as a Sikh or a sadhu, according to police sources. He may also cross over to a neighbouring country.

Gopal Kanda, the prime accused in Geetika suicide case is on the run for more than a week now. The police have been unable to trace him, so far.

Kanda followed Geetika to exam centre in Delhi University dressed as a sikh. Kanda was insecure about Geetika as he feared the girl was having relationship with another man. Kanda has been absconding since August 7; his mobile phone is switched off.

The police are afraid that kanda is using the same tactics to dodge the police.

Gopal Kanda is working on a well laid out plan. He is using messengers to keep his identity secret. He is passing chits through his messengers to his associates to chalk out his next strategy and evade police.

His sprawling mansion-like house in Silsa, Haryana bore a deserted look. He has not returned to his house, as he fears he would be caught. Even the neighbours do not have an idea of his wherebouts.

There are fears that Kanda may be shielded; the opposition hinted- the CM of Haryana may be shielding the alleged accused.

Geetika Sharma had committed suicide on Saturday night, leaving behind a suicide note that said that the minister and a senior MDLR official, Aruna Chadha, were to blame.

The Geetika suicide case is a big challenge for the administration. The law needs to prevail. The influential and the powerful should not hold the state mechanism to ransom.
