Agreement signed b/w India & Finland to boost cooperation on social security

India and Finland inked pact in New Delhi to boost bilateral cooperation on social security.


Subsequent to the agreement:




  • No social security contribution will be paid by detached Indian nationals working on a short term contract up to 5 years in Finland, provided they continue to make payment in India and the benefit will be provided even if an Indian company sends its employees to Finland from a third country.
  • Indian workers will be entitled to the export of social security benefit if they are relocated to their home country after completing their service in Finland.
  • Self-employed Indian nationals can also avail same benefits on their relocation to India
  • The period of contribution in one contracting state will be added to the period of contribution in the second contracting state for determining the eligibility of social security benefits.
