Terrorist module busted in Kashmir; large haul of ammunition found

Srinagar: A terrorist module has been busted in the Srinagar with the arrest of two Kashmir Islamic Movement militants, and a huge cache of weapons and ammunition has been seized, Jammu and Kashmir Police said.

With this, police have solved four cases of murder of serving and retired police officers and the attacks on a state minister and a religious leader.

"Srinagar police have successfully investigated the attack on station house officer (SHO) Batmaloo, killing of Inspector Shabir Ahmad of police telecommunication, killing of assistant sub-inspector Sukhpal Singh, attack on a National Conference (NC) block president, the attack on minister Ali Muhammad Sagar, and killing of NC worker at Batmaloo," Sahai told a media conference here.

A landmine, two wireless sets, eleven batteries, a radio set frequency setter, four Chinese pistols, six pistol magazines, 100 rounds of pistol ammunition, five grenades, two knifes , thirteen UBGL (under barrel grenade launcher) shells, a sniper rifle, two AK-47 rifles, 16 AK-47 magazines, a large quantity of AK ammunition, two UBGLs, one woman's hair wig, four grenade pins, an improvised explosive device (IED) and eleven detonators were recovered from the busted guerrilla module.
