Muslims offer Eid prayers at Uttrakhand Gurdwara
Aug 22, 2012, 16:45PMNew Delhi: In an extraordinary display of communal harmony, the priest of a Gurdwara invited Muslims to offer Eid Namaz as the weather was not good, media reports said.
The Times of India reported on Wednesday that Muslims offered their Eid Namaaz in the local Gurdwara of Joshimath, Chamoli in Uttrakhand after the head priest invited them.
The Muslims normally offer their Namaaz in Gandhi Maidan which was muddy after heavy rains. The head priest offered that the main hall of the Gurdwara be used for the Eid Namaaz.
The Muslims gathered in the premises of the Gurdwara around 9:30am and offered their prayers, the Times of India reported.
