Dell Inc announced to buy Quest Software Inc for 2.4 billion dollar cash

Dell Inc on 3 July 2012 announced to buy Quest Software Inc for 2.4 billion dollar to increase its software and reduce its dependence on personal computer souk. There was a bidding war between Dell and Insight Initial offer to buy Quest Software. In this, Insight Initial Offer bid on 23 dollar per share in March 2012 where Dell bid on 25.50 dollar per share and bough the Quest Software Inc.

Primarily, Dell awarded Quest its 1300 engineers and its secure software designed for businesses and government agencies. Dell is with Quest to sell more servers, networking and storage products and computing services as it is more profitable than PCs currently.





Dell decided to buy Quest because it founded itself a step behind its rivals Hewlett-Packard Co. (HP) and International Business Machines Corp. (IBM) to become one-stop shops for corporate information technology needs. Quest is Dell's biggest purchase after Perot Systems for 3.9 billion dollar in 2009.
Dell Inc. is an American multinational computer technology corporation in US. It was founded by Michael Dell. It is one of the largest technological corporations in the world. It is the third largest PC vendor across the world after HP and Lenovo.
