Delhi Government announced subsidy of 1 Rupee per unit on electricity for domestic consumers

Delhi Government announced subsidy of 1 Rupee per unit on electricity for domestic consumers on 1 July 2012. This subsidy would be relevant for those people who consume 200 units or fewer units per month. Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) had increased the tariffs on electricity in various categories.

The new chunk of electricity tariffs announced by DERC was that people who consumes 0 to 200 units, 0 to 400 and 401 and above have to pay Rs 3.70, 4.80 and Rs 6.40 respectively.The subsidy of 1 Rupee was charged from consumers under the previous tariff regime but it was discontinued by the government till 31 March 2012.
