S.R. Rao appointed by the Government as the new Commerce Secretary.
- Replaces Rahul Khullar who was shifted as the telecom regulator
- S.R. Rao is a Padma Shri awardee for his commendable role in combating 1994 Surat plague
- He will be responsible of presenting the yearly review of the Foreign Trade Policy 2009-2014
