No more stress over tresses!

Winters can be very harsh on skin and hair. And with the wedding season upon us, many to-be-brides, suffering from dry scalp, are fretting over their tresses and how they’d do their hair on the D-day! But beat the stress away ladies, as After Hrs speaks to experts to get quick solutions to this problem.
Moisturising the scalp is an important ritual to get rid of dryness. “Brides can use mosturiser for dry scalp and instead of regular conditioning, deep conditioning helps to moisten the scalp faster. Dry scalp can also cause dandruff, which is a fungal infection. So treat dandruff, keeping the scalp clean is vital and to do so, use a good dandruff shampoo. Also, clean scalp can considerably reduce any kind of hair problems. One can use home remedies like hot olive oil massage on scalp at least twice a week,” says hair expert Mamtaa Joshi of the Orangetree Studio.
Altering hair care routine is also an important aspect in order to get rid of dry hair, says hair and scalp expert Sonali Gupta. She further adds, “Besides changing hair care cycle, it is also important to shampoo the right way. Massaging your scalp in the right manner ensures good blood flow and it helps the scalp release natural oils. Also, regular hot oil massages treatments and fortnightly hair-spa treatment for dandruff is beneficial. As part of home treatment, apply curd with 10-15 drops of lime juice and wash with lukewarm water.”
But for those who have very little time, worry not — a few rituals and dietary changes can ensure you sport those Rapunzel tresses without any stress. “Every alternate nightmassage with olive oil and follow it up by using steam for five mins. Wash your hair with a mild shampoo in the morning. Get hair spa done once a week and go for protein treatments for the hair. Repeat this procedure till the wedding. Drink three litres of water and add green, leafy vegetables and lots of salad in diet,” suggests hair expert Seema Keniel from Esthetiques medispa.
