Shouryya Ray: 16-year-old Indian-origin student solves 350-year old Mathematics Problem

2nd June 2012

Shouryya Ray, 16-year-old, Indian-origin student from Germany has solved a 350-year old mathematics problem.

  • The mathematics problems had puzzled mathematicians around the world for more than 350 years.
  • The boy also solved 2 fundamental particle dynamics theories which physicists used to calculate only by using powerful computers.

The solutions he has given will now help scientists to calculate the flight path of a thrown ball and then predict how it will hit and bounce off a wall.
