Mohamed Morsy was announced Egypt’s first Islamist President after 1st elections in the country’s history. He defeated Hosni Mubarak’s regime’s last Prime Minister Ahmed Shafiq with a close margin. Egypt’s last four Presidents over the last 6 decades were from the military. It is for the first time Egypt will be led by an Islamist and by a democratically elected civilian. However, the main power tussle b/w Brotherhood and military has not yet come to halt.
