Our desktop will be having so many shortcut icons. Due to the presence of these icons, our desktop looks very hard to see. Follow these steps to hide your desktop icons.
STEPS :
1) Right click on the empty space of your desktop.
2) Select View option.

2) Select View option.
3) Uncheck the Show Desktop icons. That's it. Now your desktop looks very beautiful without any icons in it.
4) Follow the same procedure and check the Show Desktop icons to display the icons if you want.
